Project for the implementation of the Wi-Fi system in the municipality of Benissa
As explained by Jorge Ivars, the councillor responsible for the area, the agreement signed between the City Council and Closeness will provide the 95% area with high-quality internet access, for both private and professional use, at a very competitive price.
The work will be carried out in three phases. Firstly, the nodes that provide coverage to the municipality will be installed at several initial points: Antiguo seminario and Pedramala. Next, free access will be provided in several public spaces: zona finca roja, zona glorieta, zona deportiva, and zona Fustera. At these points, people will be able to connect via their various mobile devices (laptops, phones, tablets, etc.). Finally, professional and residential internet access will be completed, with special emphasis on the industrial estate, coastal area, and rural area.
Furthermore, it is also planned that two free access points will be installed soon in the Library and in the Casal Jove, during the times that they remain open.
Economic and employment promotion
The installation work will be carried out, for the most part, by local installers, thereby promoting employment in the municipality. Both local businesses and individuals will be able to act as collaborators in the marketing of new subscriber sign-ups, receiving a bonus for each managed sign-up.
Businesses located in the Benissa Industrial Estate will improve their productivity by having better internet connectivity at a lower cost. They will have a special network for them.
Several briefing meetings are scheduled to take place on the following dates in March:
- Tuesday 5th: Estate agents and property managers - 4:30 PM at the University Centre
Tuesday 5th: Installers and Sales Agents - 7.00 pm at the Seu Universitària
-Thursday 7th: Small and medium-sized businesses and commercial businesses- 4:00 p.m. at the Bar de la Cultural
Thursday 7th: Polígono Industrial La Pedrera - 7:00 PM at Bar Manel
Tuesday 12: Personal - Two meetings, one at 12:00 and another at 19:00 at the University seat
