Agreement to provide Benissa with Wi-Fi

Benissa gave the green light last night at a plenary session, with the favourable votes of the entire council, to the framework collaboration agreement between the town hall and the company Closeness, for the deployment of telecommunications networks based on wireless or wifi technologies. As explained by the councillor for new technologies, Jorge Ivars, this initiative aims to provide a wireless internet service to all residents of the municipality, both those living in rural or coastal areas and those living in the urban centre.
The objective is to install two antennas, in the urban area and in the Pedramala district, which will provide Wi-Fi service to all interested households that undergo a prior installation. The agreement also provides for the placement of various hotspot points, with free and open access to the internet, in both the urban centre and the coastal area.
